Eggless...

My sister found out a month or so ago that my nephew, Hunter, is allergic to eggs (among a few other things). I had been planning to make cupcakes for our upcoming family reunion, and I was up for the challenge! Hunter had to be able to have a cupcake too!

My family is full of chocolate lovers, so I decided on a triple chocolate cupcake! My favorite devils food chocolate cupcake, chocolate ganache filling, and my go-to chocolate frosting... AMAZING!

Summertime, more Lemon, and a big birthday!

I'm convinced that it doesn't get much better than a super lemony cupcakes! Here are a few variations on the plain lemon I've made in the past, I just keep getting requests for them!

First, just the classic lemon cupcakes, Yummy!

On August 21, my wonderful husband turned 30! When I asked him what kind of cupcakes he wanted for his party, he knew right away! Lemon cupcakes (his favorite) with raspberry frosting. It was a winner! I made my standard lemon cupcake with a surprise inside, homemade lemon curd! I frosted them with a raspberry buttercream and it was TO DIE FOR! Yummy! These will definitely be making a repeat appearance soon!

Hunter turns 1!

On July 29, my precious nephew turned 1! I was beyond thrilled when my sister asked me to make Hunter's birthday cake and cupcakes! What an honor! I had been brainstorming for months about what I could do that would go with the jungle theme of his party.
I finally decided on basic devils food chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, all frosted with vanilla buttercream. I knew it would be perfectly kid friendly. I made homemade sugar cookies and decorated them by hand to resemble jungle animals, I even found animal print cupcakes liners!

As you can see, Hunter loved the cake too! He looks like a little green monster! Man I love that kid!
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY BABY HUNTER! YOUR AUNTIE ALI LOVES YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK!

Graduation!

It's no secret that my household is a WSU household. GO COUGS! I was thrilled when I was asked to make graduation cupcakes for some of my coworker's kids (and their friends!) Not so exciting was the realization that some of these cupcakes would be for University of Washington (the arch rival of WSU...uhh ohh!) After convincing my notoriously Coug husband that it was not okay to ruin the UW cupcakes while I wasn't looking, I got to work.

I made 3 dozen chocolate and 2 dozen white cupcakes and frosted them in appropriate colors for each school. They turned out awesome!

Go Cougs!

Congratulations to all of the graduates!

My First 1st Birthday!

When my co worker asked me to make butterfly cupcakes for her neice's first birthday party, I was all for it! The when she asked me to make a cake too, I was terrified! I think it all turned out pretty well, and I hear that the birthday girl was thrilled. Happy Birthday Jordyn!!

And.... the cake! Not too bad for my first attempt!

Salted Caramel and Celebrations

This weekend we celebrating two very exciting occassions in the lives of two of my very best friends! My friend and co-worker Ashley, is expecting her first baby, a little girl, this July! Also, my friend Erica is getting married this month! What better way to celebrate than cupcakes!

Devils food chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel buttercream and homemade caramel sauce seemed like the perfect addition to these celebrations (we also celebrated with lemon raspberry cupcakes, soon to come)

These were truly just as delicious as they look!

Lemon... YUMMY!

These are lemon cupcakes with lemon cream frosting! YUMMY! My husband likes these so much that he doesn't want me to fill the orders for them, he wants to eat them all himself (this coming from the man who says he "doesn't really like cake that much") These were for a friend's mom's 50th birthday party, I hope she likes them!

S'mores and a Sweet 16!

Today we wished a happy birthday to two of my wonderful cousins! (Along with some love to all of the mothers in my family!)

Marie is going to be 16 tomorrow! I can't believe she is so grown up, and am so proud to call her my family. What a mature and wonderful woman she is growing into! I knew she needed something special for her big day... something girly too!

Homemade confetti with pink and purple srinkles and chocolate frosting all wrapped up in a purple cupcake liner seemed to do the trick! I hope your Sweet 16 is just as sweet as you are Marie!

It was also Sam's birthday, and his was today! I figured he may not be thrilled with cupcakes that were pink and purple, so I opted for something yummy and sweet, since we all know Sam is famous for his sweet tooth!

These seemed to hit the spot! Graham Cracker crust on bottom, chocolate cupcakes, and a homemade marshmallow frosting, toasted! I hope your day today was fantastic Sammy! We love you!

And a VERY happy Mother's day to all mothers! I hope your loved ones spoiled you today!
